The Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) Hosts Inaugural National Coordination Meeting to Realize a Global City for All

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) held its inaugural National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) with the theme "Collaboration between Local Governments and the Nusantara Capital City Authority to Realize a Global City for All" at the Kempinski Hotel, Central Jakarta on Thursday (03/14/2024).

 

The Rakornas aims to ensure the equitable distribution of information regarding the form of governance in NCA, potential collaborations with Nusantara, the specificity and special authority of IKN, the development progress of Nusantara, investment implementation in Nusantara, and to strengthen collaboration with all local governments and ministries/agencies in Indonesia.

 

The event also provided explanations on the concept and perspective of the Nusantara Capital City from various aspects, including a governance perspective focusing on innovation and adaptability, an environmental perspective to achieve sustainable cities by achieving net zero emissions by 2045, an economic perspective to achieve justice and equality in inclusive economic growth, and a technological perspective adopting the concept of a Smart City to improve quality of life and community adaptation to change.

 

Bambang Susantono, Chairman of the NCA, stated that the introduction of the Nusantara Capital City represents a leap in civilization transformation in Indonesia. The development of the Nusantara is expected to lay the groundwork for a new civilization by introducing new cultures.

 

"The development of the Nusantara Capital City is a transformation to create a new civilization by introducing new cultures and new foundations for Indonesia's progress and to disseminate new economic magnets so that they are not only concentrated on Java Island. This makes collaboration between local governments and ministries/agencies vital in accordance with good governance principles," he said.

 

In line with this, Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi, Deputy Head of Development Control at the Nusantara Capital City Authority, said, "It is hoped that this Rakornas can also provide a constructive discussion platform so that all participants can fully understand the concept of the Nusantara Capital City and how to realize a new civilization in anticipation of Indonesia's Golden Year 2045."

 

The Rakornas was attended by several speakers from relevant ministries/agencies, namely: Acting Director General of Regional Administration Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Amran; Chair of the Task Force for National Capital City Infrastructure Development, Danis H. Sumadilaga; Secretary General of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency, Suyus Windayana; Acting Deputy for Regional Development of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Tri Dewi Virgiyanti; and Curator of the Nusantara Capital City, Ridwan Kamil.

 

"In line with our vision to realize a smart city oriented towards net zero emissions, our task here is to ensure sustainable development so that it will ultimately benefit the wider community," said Ridwan Kamil on that occasion.

 

Related to this, Danis H Sumadilaga expressed during the discussion session, "Sustainability, which encompasses environmental, social, and community aspects, is indeed the reference point in the development process."

 

The agenda of this Rakornas was also attended by 39 Secretaries of Ministries/Agencies, 38 Governors, and 594 Regents/Mayors from all regions in Indonesia.
