Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation Invites Smart City Investment in Astana

ASTANA - Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of the Authority of the Capital of the Archipelago (OIKN) Prof. Mohammed Ali Berawi conveyed the potential for investment in smart city technology in the development of the Capital of the Archipelago at a smart city investment event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Astana. The agenda was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Kazakhstan, M. Fadjroel Rachman, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, and Deputy Governor of Astana. In this panel session, DBPI deputies also gave a presentation on investment potential and mechanisms for business stakeholders who are interested in various opportunities in the archipelago.

Deputy Prof Ali said that infrastructure development requires a variety of smart city supporting infrastructure consisting of 6 domains of development sectors, namely the governance sector, transportation and mobility sector, lifestyle sector, natural resources and energy sector, industry and human resources sector, and built environment and infrastructure sector. 
"To support connectivity to ensure smart cities, 5G connectivity infrastructure development is also supported by active and passive infrastructure development," said Prof. Ali. Active infrastructure development includes fiber optic and base transceiver station (BTS tower) and 'passive infrastructure consists of a multi-multility tunnel used to accommodate various utility networks such as fiber optic cables, electricity, and networks.
This investment opportunity also received a positive response from the government of Kazakhstan. "This potential will open up opportunities for cooperation between countries through various business lines that can be implemented in the archipelago." said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by more than twenty business stakeholders. Investment support efforts for smart cities also attracted many investors who attended. Some of the things that were discussed in the panel session of Prof. Ali Berawi and Mr. Agung, Deputy of OIKN Investment included the potential for investment cooperation in the capital city of the archipelago, investment mechanisms and business opportunities that will be obtained by investors.
