JAKARTA – The DPR RI Plenary Meeting has ratified the Draft Law (RUU) on Amendments to Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital (UU IKN) on today, Tuesday (03/10/2023) in the Plenary Meeting Room, Nusantara Building, DPR, Senayan, Jakarta.

"Next, we will ask all members once again whether the Bill regarding amendments to Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital can be approved to become law?” said Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, followed by the approval of the DPR RI Plenary Meeting participants.

In the level II discussion, the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa said that the Draft Law on Amendments to the Nusantara Law would be the legal basis for encouraging the 4P NNC process.

"The Draft Law on Amendments to the Nusantara Law is capable of becoming a legal basis for accelerating activities for the preparation, development and relocation of the National Capital, as well as the administration of the Special Regional Government for the Nusantara National Capital," said Suharso.

Suharso continued, in order to build Nusantara as a city of the future, different arrangements are needed by strengthening several specific authorities mandated by the NNC Authority.

“Including exceptions from regulations in sectoral regulations (lex specialis). Strengthening special authority and lex specialis regulations is intended to enable the NCA to create an Nusantara National Capital," he said.

In his report, Chairman of Commission II DPR RI Ahmad Doli Kurnia said that changes to Law no. 3 of 2022 concerning National Capital is needed to optimize the implementation, preparation, construction and relocation of the national capital, as well as the implementation of the NNC Special Regional Government.

"This optimization ultimately leads to the goal of developing the capital of the Nusantara, which is basically one of the efforts of the Indonesian people to realize the goals of the nation," said Doli.
