Promoting Greenery in Nusantara, Mrs Lusie Susantono and FH UI Alumni Plant Trees in Samboja Lestari

NUSANTARA - During her visit to Nusantara, Lusie Susantono (the wife of the Chairman of the Nusantara Capital Authorithy (NCA)), accompanied by the Special Staff for Sustainable Development Goals of NCA, Diani Sadiawati, along with alumni from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (Tolere - FHUI'1982), engaged in a greening initiative by planting trees in the Samboja Lestari Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, Samboja, East Kalimantan.

The tree planting activity was guided by Samboja Lestari, which not only serves as the orangutan rehabilitation center owned by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation but also carries out tropical rainforest reforestation projects. All the trees planted are endangered species, specifically the Balangeran tree.

The entire tree planting process was carefully conducted by the visiting group. A total of 27 new trees were planted during this activity.

"In the name of God, may they grow big. Hopefully, Nusantara becomes greener and more lush, and in the future, there will be fewer endangered tree species," said Lusie Susantono while planting the Balangeran tree on Sunday (07/01/2024).

As a representative of the Tolere FHUI'1982 Alumni, Vice Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Arsul Sani, who also participated in tree planting, fully supports all Nusantara greening initiatives. "Indeed, Nusantara is this green. Let us continue to preserve the surrounding environmental ecosystem," he said.

In addition to tree planting, Lusie Susantono and the group also visited the Honey Bear Sanctuary and Orangutan Island in Samboja Lestari.
