NCA Holds Public Expose and Continued Market Briefing for Telecommunications Infrastructure Providers in Nusantara

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) through the Deputy of Infrastructure and Infrastructure held a Public Expose event for Telecommunications Infrastructure Providers and Continued Market Briefing in the Core Government Center Area 1A (KIPP 1A) IKN at The Westin Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday (15/01/2024).

The event aims to socialize the provision of telecommunications infrastructure in KIPP 1A IKN and provide information related to the planned development in June 2024 to all telecommunications business actors/providers interested in participating and collaborating in the development of Nusantara.

In her opening remarks, Deputy of Infrastructure and Infrastructure of NCA, Silvia Halim, conveyed that telecommunications infrastructure is one of the crucial aspects in supporting connectivity, integration, and innovation in Nusantara.

"We invite all telecommunications providers who want to contribute to the provision of telecommunications infrastructure in Nusantara to coordinate with PT. Telkom Indonesia and PT. Indonesia Comnet Plus as the Right of Way holders. We hope that this collaboration can produce reliable, high-quality telecommunications infrastructure in accordance with the smart city standards we have set," said Deputy Silvia.

She explained that IKN Authority has appointed PT. Telkom Indonesia and PT. Indonesia Comnet Plus as the Right of Way holders in KIPP 1A IKN, which have the right to build, operate, and maintain basic telecommunications infrastructure in the area.

Deputy Silvia also added that through this shared infrastructure scheme, even though PT. Telkom Indonesia and PT. Indonesia Comnet Plus with IKN Authority adopt a Business As Usual scheme in broadband networks, the opportunity for shared telecommunications connectivity is wide open for fixed and mobile broadband service providers. Thus, the scheme emphasizes fair and mutually beneficial telecommunications services in supporting the presence of the Smart City in IKN. Furthermore, shared telecommunications infrastructure in IKN is expected to encourage service providers to collaborate and compete in a healthy manner.

In line with this, the President Director of PT Indonesia Comnet Plus, Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi, mentioned IKN Authority's role in building green, sustainable, and smart city standards as their main concern.

"The development of telecommunications service infrastructure will be built in parallel with green and sustainable energy infrastructure. In addition, we will prepare infrastructure that uses advanced digital-based electrical systems with AI utilization, thus improving the efficiency of providers in providing their services," said Ari.

Vice President of Network/IT Strategy, Technology & Architecture from PT. Telkom Indonesia, Rizal Akbar, expressed PT. Telkom Indonesia's readiness to build telecommunications infrastructure in the KIPP 1A IKN Area.

"PT. Telkom Indonesia, which has been appointed as the right of way holder for fiber optics and BTS towers, has received various offers to become our infrastructure partner. So far, there are already Indosat and XL Axiata who are ready to become our right of way partners," said Rizal.

In addition, this Market Briefing event also included presentations and discussions about plans, strategies, and mechanisms for providing telecommunications infrastructure in KIPP 1A IKN, including investment opportunities in Smart Pole infrastructure, and the 5G technology that will be implemented in Nusantara for telecommunications business players.
