Memorial Park, Monument of National Heroes' Struggle, Begins Construction in Nusantara

NUSANTARA - The Chairman of the NCA accompanied President Joko Widodo in inaugurating the construction of Memorial Park as a monument to honor Indonesia's two Proclaimers on Wednesday (17/01/2024).

The monument is shaped like an eggshell with carvings of the Garuda bird and features statues of the two Indonesian Proclaimers, namely Ir. Soekarno and Drs. Mohammad Hatta. Both statues will flank the eternal flame in the center. Memorial Park will be integrated with the Nusantara Terrace.

Memorial Park is part of the national axis with an area of 2,034 square meters and a courtyard that can accommodate a thousand people. The Director General of Cipta Karya, Diana Kusumastuti, added, "The target is that during the August 17, 2024 ceremony, we can already use this Memorial Park. As for the budget, it is 361 billion from the state budget."

Chairman of the NCA, Bambang Susantono, stated, "Memorial Park will be a sacred symbol of the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony. It will be a place that reminds us all of the struggles of the heroes and the eternal flame of the Indonesian people's struggle."

In line with Bambang, President Joko Widodo added, "This place will always remind the Indonesian people, all of us, of the services of the nation's heroes who fought to realize Indonesia's independence."
