Enthusiasm of Indonesian Students in Hannover Welcomes the Future Capital, Nusantara

HANNOVER - A delegation from the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN), led by the Secretary of IKN, Achmad Jaka Santos Adiwijaya, visited the student dormitory of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in Hannover, Germany, on Wednesday (24/04/2024).

This visit served as an opportunity for networking with students who are pursuing their education in the capital city of Niedersachsen. The students showed great enthusiasm in listening to the presentation delivered by Secretary Jaka regarding the concept and progress of Indonesia's future capital, Nusantara.

"There are many disciplines required to build a capital city, both within the Authority and within the Authority's Business Entity (BUO)," said Secretary Jaka.

The presence of Indonesian students studying abroad is seen as a potential asset for Indonesia, particularly for IKN, to provide opportunities for the nation's best talents to contribute to the development through Nusantara.

One Indonesian student in Hannover, Sergio Putra De Paulo Kou, who hails from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, expressed his support for relocating Indonesia's capital to Nusantara.

"I wholeheartedly support the development of IKN because one of the reasons is that I come from Kupang, which is in the eastern part of NTT. Nusantara represents decentralization. Decentralization is not only for Java but can spread throughout Indonesia," said the Chairman of PPI Hannover.

Representing PPI Hannover, Sergio stated that the students also support Nusantara, especially due to its environmentally friendly city concept.

"I am truly open to IKN being one of the options for us, as Indonesian citizens, to develop and actively contribute to Indonesia," concluded Sergio.

Accompanying Secretary Jaka were Muji Budda'wah, Head of the Finance, National Asset Management, and Procurement Bureau; Onesimus Patiung, Director of Environmental Management and Disaster Mitigation; Resdiansyah, Urban Mobility Specialist; and Panji Himawan, Specialist in Cooperation and Creative Economy.
