NCA Signs MOU with Motorola to Create a Safe City through Technology

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) and Motorola Solutions, Inc. officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the NCA office, demonstrating their commitment to developing Nusantara as a smart, green, resilient, sustainable, and inclusive city (12/06/2024).

 

Prof. Ir. Mohammed Ali Berawi, M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, emphasized that the development of Nusantara is a project with vast opportunities for creating knowledge and advancing cutting-edge technology.

 

“With this mega-scale activity and various facilities provided by the government, relocating the capital is a significant opportunity for all parties to contribute to the legacy of civilization building, including within the current global context. The blueprint for Nusantara as a smart city attracts global investors and technology providers to collaborate in developing Nusantara,” stated Prof. Ali.

 

Richard Brecher, Global Government Affairs Director at Motorola, shared similar enthusiasm. “Building a new national capital is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. We look forward to contributing to the creation of a robust, interoperable, and sustainable technology system in Nusantara,” said Richard.

 

Chang Kar Weng, Director for Indonesia-Singapore-Brunei at Motorola, also expressed appreciation for the plans and roadmap to realize Nusantara as a green, sustainable, and resilient city. “In addition to green initiatives, Motorola is committed to developing technology and solutions for public safety and security to help build Nusantara as a safe city,” added Chang.

 

With support from the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), Motorola is committed to implementing technology and solutions in the public safety sector, such as video surveillance, emergency communications, access control, and a consortium for developing a pilot project command center by the end of 2024.
