Collaboration Between Nusantara Capital Authority and PT Honeywell Indonesia in Smart City Development

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) and Honeywell Indonesia have established a partnership marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding at the NCA office in Jakarta (11/06/2024). The signing ceremony was conducted between Prof. Ir. Mohammed Ali Berawi, M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of the Nusantara Capital Authority, and Steven Lien, President of Honeywell Asia.

 

In its efforts to develop Nusantara into a smart city, NCA has collaborated with several global technology companies, including Honeywell. As a leading engineering technology company, Honeywell offers solutions to address challenges in various sectors including smart buildings, energy management, security, safety, and sustainability.

 

The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to strengthen collaboration, exchange ideas, and share experiences in planning and implementing the smart city concept in Nusantara, supporting green economic development, tangible economic returns, and enhancing the overall experience for the people of Indonesia.

 

“Collaboration with Honeywell is expected to accelerate the development of the smart city in Nusantara in accordance with the Nusantara Smart City Blueprint. This will create a city that can be managed more efficiently and improve the quality of life for its residents,” said Prof. Ali.

 

The event was also attended by David Hutagalung, President Director of Honeywell Indonesia, along with other Honeywell Indonesia executives, who expressed their enthusiasm for this partnership.

 

Steven Lien, President of Honeywell Asia, expressed his commitment to supporting the realization of Nusantara’s development in alignment with the smart city vision of net-zero carbon emissions. “It is a great honor for Honeywell to contribute to the development of the smart city in Nusantara Capital, particularly by providing sustainable smart building technology and solutions,” said Steven.

 

David Hutagalung, President Director of Honeywell Indonesia, shared similar enthusiasm. “As an early believer in the development of Nusantara, Honeywell, through this MoU, reinforces its commitment to supporting the development of Nusantara as a smart city more concretely,” David stated.

 

Additionally, Honeywell is part of a group of U.S.-based companies set to conduct a proof-of-concept for the Integrated Command and Control Center by the end of 2024, supported by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
