NUSANTARA - The Chairman of the Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA), Bambang Susantono, accompanied by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, inspected the progress of the construction of the Training Center of the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) in the Nusantara area, East Kalimantan Province, on Wednesday (17/01/2024).

"The presence of the PSSI Training Center in the Nusantara area is something to be proud of because it can enhance the appeal of Nusantara nationally and internationally," said the Chairman of the NCA.

Bambang hopes that with the establishment of this training center, it will produce new athletes who will bring glory to Indonesia.

"After this training center is completed and can be used for practice, in a few years, I hope to see new names of athletes from the local community. Especially with high-quality standards, they will become world-class athletes," he expressed.

According to the President, the construction of the PSSI Training Center has reached 20 percent, and it is expected to be completed by May 2024.

"We hope that by May or June, it can be used for training camps, including for the U20 team to come here," said the President.

On the same occasion, the coach of the Indonesian national team, Indra Sjafri, expressed his surprise at the development of the PSSI training center. He believes that the presence of the training center will support the preparation of the Indonesian national football team.

"This will certainly be a support for the national team's preparation, both for the senior team and for women's football in the future," said Indra Sjafri.

Accompanying the President along with the Chairman of the NCA, Bambang Susantono, in the inspection were the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Hadi Tjahjanto, Presidential Advisory Council Member Gandi Sulistiyanto, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Chairman of PSSI Erick Thohir, Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Akmal Malik, Acting Regent of Penajam Paser Utara Makmur Marbun, and IKN Development Curator Ridwan Kamil.
